Broncos land Johnson

Western Michigan got some more big news on the recruiting trail Tuesday morning as Gary, Ind. athlete Lonnie Johnson joined the 2014 class.
Formerly an Ohio State commitment, Johnson decided to re-open his recruitment just over a week ago. He then visited WMU for the Central game Saturday, named the Broncos his leader on Sunday, and committed today.

As a three-star with a 5.7 Rivals Rating, Johnson matches Chance Stewart as the highest-rated players in the class. He's also ranked as the 28th best athlete in the country and the 8th best overall player in the state of Indiana.
Other offers for Johnson came from Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, South Florida and a host of MAC schools. He had stated plans to visit Cincinnati and USF, but earlier this morning tweeted that he didn't want to take any other visits.
With the news, Western Michigan's recruiting class moves to 39th in the country just ahead of Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Oregon.
