Amir Watts, Chicago Ill. defensive lineman pledges to Western Michigan

Western Michigan's spring football game came and went, impressing recruits who were there on a visit. One of those recruits, Amir Watts pledged to head coach P.J. Fleck Saturday evening.
The Broncos have a need on the current roster at defensive tackle, and they were searching hard for someone to help anchor the middle of the defensive line, coveting Watts' talents.

He brings a 6-foot-3, 260-pound frame into the fold, becoming the 14th verbal commitment for Fleck and co., putting them in a tie for third-most in the country with Florida State. Overall, the Broncos sit at No. 38 in the country, though the caveat being that only five of WMU's recruits are currently ranked by Rivals.com.
Watts told Tim O'Halloran of CSNChicago.com and EdgyTim.com"I just felt that there is too much opportunity at Western Michigan for me to pass up. The program is undergoing a lot of development and growth and I want to be a part of that so I committed."
We'll have more on Amir Watts commitment, as well as our Spring Game thoughts, in the coming days.
