KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan men's basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the 2013-14 season today, which will open with two home exhibition games and feature six home games at University Arena, as well as a three-game tournament at Hawaii and three other true road contests.

The Broncos will host two exhibition games at University Arena to start the season, welcoming Kalamazoo College (Nov. 2) and Aquinas College (Nov. 4) to the friendly confines to warm up for the regular season. They will then embark on a near week-long trip to the islands, where they will participate in a four-team tournament hosted by Hawaii. WMU opens the tournament with New Mexico State (11/8), faces hosting Hawaii (11/9) in their second game, and wraps the tournament against Tennessee State (11/10).

After returning to Kalamazoo, the Broncos will host a four-game homestand at University Arena; the stretch starts with Alabama A&M (Nov. 17) in their first-ever meeting with WMU. North Dakota State (Nov. 20) returns to University Arena for a rematch of the opening round of last year's College Basketball Invitational, which the Broncos won in overtime. Rounding out the homestand will be Oakland (Nov. 26) and Cornell (Nov. 29); the former represents the third straight year the teams have met and second in a row at University Arena, while the latter is a rematch of last year's season opener.

That stretch at home is followed by a three-game stretch on the road, beginning with a short jaunt to Evanston, Ill. to face B1G opponent Northwestern (Dec. 7). After a break for finals, the Broncos head back out for a road game at Missouri (Dec. 15); the team will travel directly from Columbia to Des Moines, Iowa for a game against Drake (Dec. 18) to close the road swing. The Broncos conclude their non-conference schedule at home when they host Siena Heights (Jan. 2).
