Oregon State lands Samoan Athlete
Fred Lauina committed to play for the Beavers.Oregon State bolstered the depth of their offensive line today as Pago Pago (American Samoa) Tafuna athlete
"Fred Lauina committed to OSU last night," Brandon Smart from Field House 100 American Samoa. "He's done."
The 6-foot-3, 260 pound athlete plays offensive tackle, but has a frame to add weight and play on the defensive line as well.
He has long limbs and is very athletic for a big guy.
"I really loved the atmosphere while I was there and have built a great relationship with Coach Cav and Coach Joe," Lauina said. "I am ready to join Noke and help OSU win games in the future."
Lauina was hosted on his visit by current Oregon State freshman Noke Tago, also from American Samoa. The two hit it off and have kept in contact.
"Fred is excited to select Oregon State as his college choice," Smart said. "He is firmly committed to the Beavers and looks forward to signing with them on National Signing Day."
Lauina is the 12th commitment for the Beavers 2013 class. Stay tuned to BeaverBlitz.com for all the latest from Oregon State's recruiting trail.
