Staff Predictions: Eastern Michigan
With WMU's Senior Day just hours away, BroncoBlitz.com's staff members submit their final predictions on the outcome.
David James: There is a feeling around the program that Western Michigan is limping to the finish line a bit. A 4-7 record will do that, but there still are some things to play for. A win today would give the Broncos the Michigan MAC Trophy for the second time since it was introduced in 2005.
To be frank, WMU has no business losing this game. Unless they come out flat and uninspired, the simple fact is that the Broncos are a better all-around team than EMU, and with a bit of focus they shouldn't have too much trouble.

D.J. Duckett: Well folks, we find ourselves at the end of another long season of Bronco football. Though the season may have been less than desirable for most, there is still a lot to play for. WMU will host cross state rival Eastern Michigan, and though both teams have had rather disappointing seasons, this shapes up to be a dogfight.
I believe the Broncos hold the edge. They haven't played as well at home this year as in years past, but I think this game will mean a ton to not only the players, but the program as a whole. Getting of to a good start for next season has to be on the coaches minds. I think the seniors will make sure they don't let this one slip away.

Brian Persky: Despite losing a potential bowl bid after last weekend's loss to Buffalo, Western Michigan still has quite a bit to play for on Saturday. It's senior day for Alex Carder and many other well-deserving Broncos and the Michigan MAC trophy is on the line. And that's the mentality the Broncos will need to have going into a match-up against a currently sleepwalking Eastern Michigan program.
If you don't think Alex Carder and the rest of his senior teammates will be jacked up to finish out their careers at Waldo on a high note against an in-state rival, then you might want to reconsider the heart of this team. I do think the Broncos end the regular season in a positive way, blowing the Eagles out in front of the home crowd, and seniors Alex Carder and Eric Monette have a huge day in the process.
