BroncoBlitz picks the MAC: Week Ten

Brian made the biggest move this week, posting the best records both straight up and against the spread to make the race very competitive between all three once again.

SU = Straight up
ATS = Against the spread

David James: 67-13 SU (4-3 last week), 39-29-1 ATS (3-4)
D.J. Duckett: 61-19 SU (5-2), 38-31 ATS (4-3)
Brian Persky: 64-16 SU (6-1), 37-30-2 ATS (5-2)

Eastern Michigan at Ohio (-15)

David: EMU is another one of those teams that I just can't seem to judge week to week. Ohio should come out focused following their first loss. Ohio by 17

D.J.: I see EMU struggling in this one. Ohio has been very impressive lately and I think they will be able to right the ship after last weeks tough loss. Ohio wins this one at home. Ohio by 14

Brian: A little bit of home cooking probably comes at a good time for the Ohio Bobcats after last week's tough loss at Miami. They'll have a short week to prepare, but playing Eastern Michigan will probably help that. I like the Bobcats to get back on track. Ohio by 17

Miami at Buffalo (-3.5)

David: I was very surprised to see the spread on this. Buffalo is capable of keeping things close, but Miami is still an upper-half MAC team. Miami by 7

D.J.: Miami comes off a big win against Ohio last week and I think they will continue that streak here. Buffalo have looked better than expected, but I think Dysert and the Miami offense will be too much for them. Miami by 9

Brian: A little bit of a trap game here for the Redhawks after knocking off the previously undefeated Bobcats. With Branden Oliver back for Buffalo and Kent State ahead on the schedule, I worry Miami might be in for a bit of a surprise here. Buffalo is a deceptive 0-4 in-conference, having played arguably the top four teams in the Mid-American Conference. Buffalo by 3

Akron at Kent State (-20)

David: The Battle for the Wagon Wheel. It's a rivalry, yes, and Akron is improved over last year-- but KSU is awfully good and the Zips seem to be fading. Kent by 24

D.J.: Kent has impressed me lately and Dri Archer has been most of the reason. I think this game could get out of hand if Akron isn't careful. Kent by 20

Brian: This Kent State team is for real, and they seem to be a focused bunch. I don't expect the Zips to have an answer for Dri Archer. Kent by 21

UMass at Northern Illinois (-34.5)

David: NIU can name the score in this one. UMass, kind of like Akron, is playing worse of late if anything. NIU by 40

D.J.: This game shouldn't be close. I see Jordan Lynch putting up big numbers in this one. NIU by 22

Brian: It won't be nearly as bad as Vanderbilt was last weekend. Then again, it might. On the bright side, UMass' next three games are all potential opportunities to win their first game in FBS. It's just not going to happen this week against Jordan Lynch and company. NIU by 35

Ball State at Toledo

David: Probably the game of the week, if you consider it part of this week. If the game was in Muncie, I'd be really tempted to take the Cardinals. As is, I think Toledo's too focused to drop one at home. Toledo by 5

D.J.: Ball State seems to be putting together a pretty decent season for itself, but Toledo has a way of pulling out victories in these Tuesday night games. I think Toledo's offense will be too much under the lights. Toledo by 15

Brian: Toledo seems to perform well on the big stage. If they look ahead to next week against Northern Illinois, it could hurt them, but I don't see it happening. Ball State's defense can't handle an offensive attack like they're going to see on Tuesday night. Toledo by 14
