Recruiting process begins for Holliday

Shavar Holliday transferred from Handley (Ala.) High School 30 minutes south to Lanett (Ala.) High School just before the season started.

"I've been dying to get into the recruiting process," Holliday said. "At Handley I just felt like there was no hope. It's a little country town. Despite little offseason work at Lanett, Holliday still accounted for 1,412 yards and 19 touchdowns over 10 games. He completed 38-of-66 passing for 921 yards, 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions while rushing for 491 yards on 116 carries and five more scores.

"This was my first year at this school and it was really like a learning process," Holliday said. "I really didn't have much time to prepare myself for the season. I didn't get to this school until the end of the summer so this year there will a lot of improvements. I'm going to know exactly what to do."
