Western Michigan has its twelfth commit of the class of 2014, and seventh from the state of Michigan, as Detroit defensive end Jacari Faulkner committed to play for the Broncos on Wednesday.
The Broncos continue to hit all regions of the state hard, and Faulkner represents a particularly important area of Michigan as the first 2014 commit from Detroit and the third from the metro area, along with Lucas Bezerra (Troy) and Chukwuma Okorafor (Southfield).
Furthermore, Faulkner also held an offer from rival Central Michigan, who has recently had more success recruiting the Detroit area but appears to be losing ground with P.J. Fleck now focusing more attention on the east side of the state.
Faulkner, a 6-foot-2, 230 pound prospect from the University of Detroit Jesuit High, also had interest from MAC schools Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Toledo as well as Indiana, Indiana State, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State and Pittsburgh. He is not yet rated by Rivals.com.
Western Michigan's class now includes two commits along the defensive line. BroncoBlitz.com will continue to follow this story as it develops.
