Brian Persky: In just about any other scenario, I'd probably pick the Oakland Grizzlies in this game. However, Oakland concludes a taxing seven-game road trip today at University Arena, so the schedule sets up somewhat favorable for Western Michigan.
I do think Oakland jumps out to a lead in the first half and the Broncos will have some work to do throughout the game. However, I think the Grizzlies run out of gas in the second half and lose a game they maybe should have won. Look for the Broncos to treat this as a "must-win" for several reasons.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 75, Oakland 70
Brandon Fitzsimons: Youth, and two games in 3 days, hurt the Broncos here. A home game against a decent Oakland team knocks the Broncos back.
Score Prediction: Oakland 82, Western Michigan 75
D.J. Duckett: This should be a good matchup of 2 in-state mid majors. While Oakland has certainly had more tournament success, I think they will be ripe for the picking if WMU can get its new offense working. Though the Grizzlies looked pretty good in East Lansing a few days ago, I think they will drop their first game of December to the Broncos.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 68, Oakland 64
David James: While OU has built a pretty solid mid-major program, this doesn't look like one of their better teams. The schedule for the Grizzlies has been awfully tough, but even in their manageable games (Louisiana and Texas Southern), they haven't exactly impressed. Again, a very winnable home game for the Broncos, though it'll probably be close.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 71, Oakland 69
