Brian Persky: With ten days of rest and a few big games coming up on the schedule here, the worst-case scenario for the Broncos is that they don't come out of the gates sharp in front of the home crowd. This game has potential to be one of those "growing-pain-games" for the "Baby Broncos."
High Point is a team that is going to look to push the tempo, much like Cornell did in Western Michigan's road opener. And I think that experience in particular is a big reason why the Broncos will be able to overcome, perhaps, a slow start at University Arena tonight. I like the Broncos to eventually pull away late in this game but the final score is probably closer than most people are expecting.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 81, High Point 75
Brandon Fitzsimons: This WMU team has surprised me so far, and High Point should be an easy win. The Broncos roll by halftime.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 78, High Point 50
D.J. Duckett: I think this will be a close matchup. I will be interested to see how the Broncos handle the long layoff with the holiday break. Ultimately, I think WMU holds the edge in personnel, and should get a boost from being at home. I will be looking to see Darius Paul assert himself down low, and hit the offensive glass hard, as this freshman continues to impress.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 76, High Point 62
David James: The Panthers have a couple wins against lower-tier opponents, but if WMU plays anything like they have leading up to this game, it shouldn't be a problem at home.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 77, High Point 60
