November 18, 2012Western Michigan is now 2-0 in the South Florida Invitational. They'll have their toughest test of the tournament today at 3:00 p.m. vs. host South Florida. As the game approaches, the BroncoBlitz.com staff members submit their final predictions on the outcome.
Western Michigan vs. South Florida
Brian Persky: Going up against any team from the Big East is tough for any team, let alone a youthful Broncos squad. The Broncos will be largely overmatched by South Florida's size and athleticism. If Western Michigan finds a way to create turnovers and play good defense, they could make it interesting. But I just don't see them being able to keep up with a team of this size and strength.
Score Prediction: USF 68, WMU 58
Brandon Fitzsimons: South Florida is a really good team. Having to travel to their house to play in their tournament doesn't make things much easier.
Score Prediction: USF 74, WMU 55
D.J. Duckett: To be honest, I don't know much about the USF Bulls, mostly because they have only played a couple of games this year. I do think that the Broncos will have success against them. They seem to be working in their new offense well, after their first home game turned into a rout. I believe they will take the things they learned in that game and translate them to further success on the floor. I expect a close game, with WMU edging out the victory.
Score Prediction: WMU 74, USF 71
David James: USF is expected to be a middle-of-the-pack Big East team, though their blowout loss to UCF doesn't lend much credence to that prediction. Nonetheless, there's a lot more experience and probably more talent than on this WMU team.
Score Prediction: USF 78, WMU 61
