November 12, 2012With WMU's home opener against NAIA opponent Marygrove less than 24 hours away, BroncoBlitz.com's staff members submit their final predictions on the outcome.
Marygrove at Western Michigan
Brian Persky: In a post-Cornell game interview, I made the mistake of asking Coach Hawkins what the Broncos would look to do against Marygrove in order to get back on track. Hawkins answer was simple: "We aren't off track." And he's right. By no means is this team expected to go out and win every game this season. However this is one that the Broncos will win, easily.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 83, Marygrove 57
D.J. Duckett: Coming off a loss in New York, I think the Broncos will come out ready to battle. WMU struggled in the paint against Cornell, and I see them using this game to build on some of the positives they saw. I expect to see plenty of the freshman as Coach Hawkins still tries to figure out what each one will bring to the table. I don't see this game being very close, I like WMU winning handily at home.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 66, Marygrove 47
David James: It seems that Marygrove isn't even better than Roosevelt, a team the Broncos already blew out. Roosevelt beat Marygrove by 32 in an earlier meeting... this shouldn't be close.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 91, Marygrove 55
Brandon Fitzsimons: The Broncos face a non-D1 school. If this is anything less than a blowout, Bronco fans should be worried.
Score Prediction: Western Michigan 78, Marygrove 54
